Learning Support Services

Our Learning Support Programme is provided under the guidance and expertise of a Learning Support Teacher on an individual or small group basis. Specific programmes, timetables and a variety of educational resource materials are provided to meet the special needs and requirements of these students.

This programme has its own specially resourced classroom. The Learning Support Programme works in tandem with the School Completion Programme.

Code Of Behaviour

Rules are not invented by teachers to torment or make the students life miserable. Good conduct and behaviour are demanded of all our students for the following reasons:

  • To ensure that the work of learning and teaching can proceed effectively for everyone's benefit.
  • To help students make better and more responsible decisions regarding their behaviour.
  • To promote order, safety, fairness, justice and harmony for all members of our school community.

Therefore in our school we expect:

  • That you come to school on time and arrive on time.
  • This means, that you attend school every day unless it is absolutely unavoidable. Time missed is hard to make up.
  • If you miss school you must bring in a note or a doctor's certificate.
  • The school is entitled to an explanation from your parents or guardian; attendance matters; the law requires it.
  • If you leave school during the day, you get permission and sign out; you must sign in on return to the school.
  • Because the school is responsible for you during the day.

  • That if you are unavoidably late, you bring in a note.
  • This is the courteous thing to do.
  • That you arrive at all classes on time and not delay.
  • It wastes your time, the teacher's time and class time.
  • That you do your best to work, both in class and at your homework.
  • That you listen to your teachers, the teacher is only trying to help you.
  • That you don't disturb the class.
  • It is unfair to others who wish to learn.
  • That you do your homework each night, Written and oral.
  • It is a backup to the work done in class.
  • That you always carry your school diary and take down your homework in it.
  • It helps you remember what you have to do.
  • That you get your school diary signed weekly by your parents and teacher.
  • It lets your parents see how you're getting on.
  • That you come in properly prepared for your subjects.
  • That you have the proper books, copies, pens. school diary etc.
  • It only wastes time if you haven't got them.
  • That you carry them in a school bag.
  • It prevents loss and keeps books from becoming tattered.
  • That you bring in any special equipment needed.
  • It is impossible to do the subject without it.
