Course DescriptionThis PLC (Post Leaving Cert) course is one of the longest running portfolio preparation courses in the country and is specifically designed to meet the needs of the learner who wishes to compile a strong individual and creative art portfolio for entry to third level. The course curriculum creates an opportunity for the learner to explore traditional and contemporary art techniques and build their experiences in a diverse range of materials and media. An environment of innovation and autonomous learning reflects the third level college and employment experience, and aims to equip learners with confidence and proficiency in their art and design practice. Learners explore their creativity in a variety of media and forms so they can discover what their artistic and design strengths are. Work experience is a mandatory part of the course where learners are introduced to the world of professional craft and design practice, in partnership with local and national stakeholders.
